For the past 14 months I have been working as a full-time accountant . My duties have included preparing monthly & quarterly BAS returns, as well as financial accountants & tax returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts, companies &

Superannuation funds. Accounting software that I currently use includes Solution Six,

MYOB, Banklink, BGL for Simple Funds, Viztopia, Cash Flow Manager & Quickbooks.

My role in this small firm began as a part time accountant whilst completing my studies at the University of South Australia. Shortly after, I began working full time whilst studying part time until completion of my degree. My responsibilities include preparing monthly & quarterly BAS, tax returns and financial accounts for individuals, partnerships, trusts, companies & superannuations.

 Administration Assistant,  Architects; 2005- August 2007

My role in this small firm was as the administration assistant in which I had many responsibilities such as, general reception and telephone duties, banking, maintenance of financial records (MYOB) and petty cash, reconciliation of Bank Statements, monthly invoicing of debtors and payment of creditors, weekly cash flow budgets, staff wages, payments to superannuation funds and the Australian Taxation office, group certificates, staff annual leave records, organisation and maintenance of office filing systems.

During my first year of university, I applied for a summer position in an accounting firm through the Chartered Accountants Fly Higher Program. I was fortunate enough to gain a two week position at KPMG in the audit division. During these two weeks, I was able to observe the role of auditors; however I was also able to gain a brief insight into tax accounting and middle market advisory services. This was a great opportunity to gain an understanding into the field that I was studying at University.

 Pharmacy Assistant, ; August 2003- December 2008

I was employed as a Pharmacy Assistant for just over 5 years. This position offered me a variety of roles to partake. While my key responsibilities include customer  service, over the years I also organised book work for the shop including using  MYOB Premier to enter monthly invoices and banking. Various other jobs in which I also undertook included making up Webster Packs, gift wrapping, cleaning and stock take preparation.

 Lawyers; 2003

A week of my Year 11 studies was spent discovering the lives that lawyers lead as part of  a work experience program. During this week I spent time with the financial department, lawyers and even the Human Resource team. I found it a great experience to broaden my horizons of the different career choices I would be able to pursue once finishing high school.

 Finance Manager, Car Toys; 2002

In 2002 I spent two days at Car Toys with Finance Manager, Sam Monteleone, During this time, he gave me a brief background into his every day working life which entailed managing the financial aspect of this business. This was part of a work experience program created by Siena College. 

Sales Assistant, Bakers Adelaide; November 2001 – June 2003

Working as a Sales Assistant at Bakers Delight was my first part time job. During this

time I was responsible for serving customers, handling cash, cleaning, opening and

closing of the store and managing the sales staff when my employer was away. This was a great opportunity as I was able to discover my leadership skills. While working at Bakers Delight, I obtained a Certificate II in Retail Sales.
